I've recently started working with publisher Tales From on their series of story-telling from around various football clubs from across the country. Below is the cover I designed for the latest edition of Tales From The Red & Whites, which has stories from past Sunderland players. The illustrated cover shows the 11 players through the kits they wore during their time at the club.
I represented Swindon Town FC in the Football Crest Index project. My piece used a quote from a commentator, coupled with an illustration from Swindon's 1969 victory in the League Cup final against Arsenal.
I was thrilled to work with Pluto Press to design the cover for Steve Striffler's book Solidarity. I've wanted to work with Pluto for a long time, so was great to be asked to work on this one. Art direction by Melanie Patrick.
As part of my work under The Diggers, I produced a range of editorial illustrations for Brooklyn-based Socialist magazine, Jacobin. As part of their 'Pink Tide' issue, I was asked to produce illustrations of Venezuela's President Maduro, guerrilla turned politician Lorena Pena and a 'mass murder' prayer breakfast scene to accompany an article about the evangelical right's influence on Latin America. The whole issue was printed in black and a pink Pantone.
Here's the cover I designed for the young adult Kenyan crime thriller City of Saints & Thieves, designed for Oneworld and Rock the Boat. The cover features hand painted typography, coupled with some bold colours and striking imagery.
A small illustration side project for the studio is The Diggers. I produce editorial illustrations for magazines, newspapers, publications and brands. The Diggers has a new website, click here to take a look!
I had a lot of fun creating this cover for The Angry Chef, published by Oneworld Publications.

I was delighted to be asked by Australian publisher Pantera Press to work with them on their cover for Les Zig's new book Just Another Week in Suburbia.
I was delighted to illustrate the cover of the latest magazine from the Society of Authors. The issue focuses on the eBook evolution.
Pickles Magazine asked me to create a piece of work that captured the opening game of Euro 2016 in France. I chose to create a typographic piece around the 'Allez le Bleus' chant, but combine it with the tension of all the extra security for the heightened terrorist threat. France has had a testing time with attacks, strikes and natural disasters, so I wanted something celebratory, but at the same time a bit unnerved.
New cover design for Bloomsbury Publishing for Losing it.
March sees a steady climb to producing the new issue of OFF LIFE. With a small break due to publishing Yellow, OL is back with planning in full swing. We've signed up a really exciting illustrator to produce the cover, and will definitely be a fresh take and in contrast to our previous artwork. Read more about the OFF LIFE project that's now been going for over 3 years...
Last week, myself and Daniel Humphry hosted an intimate talk night at theprintspace gallery in Shoreditch, discussing the responsibilities and potential of all things illustration. We were fortunate to be joined by Malika Favre and Rob Lowe aka Supermundane, who shared fascinating insights into the process of their work, as well as their views on the role of artist.
