I was delighted to design my first cover for Harper Collins recently. Edge is a smart-thinking book based on football theory. Ben Lyttleton uses football to learn about the immeasurable and intangible qualities of star ‘talent’. The book identifies qualities that gives an individual the edge, in terms of business and life success. The chosen route for the cover uses a segment of orange, a surprising and unexpected choice perhaps, but it subtly hints at the steps taken to gain an advantage in football. It takes me back to being a youngster at half-time team talks on a muddy pitch sucking on a segment of orange to get a shot of energy for the second half.
